My name is Kate. I am a 31 year old Dog Walker and the owner of Taking the Lead, a small family run business, providing Dog walking and Pet Sitting Services.

I have been a dog fanatic all my life, from the early days growing up with a Great Dane, numerous Collies, Lurchers and Rescues, and I currently have an Australian Shepherd (Elvis), whom I have owned since puppyhood and brings me joy every day.

Before deciding to go into the world of Canine Care I lived with a dog care professional and trainer. Not only did I learn a lot through her experience in this profession she influenced my decision to start up my own business. Meeting new dogs everyday......who wouldn't want that as their career!?

Aside from dogs, my other interests include photography, running and the gym which I get to indulge in when I have a free moment. I have become a mum within the last two years and it has shown me even more so how important the role of a dog is in a home. I'm also a certified Personal Trainer but decided that I much prefer the company of my furry clients than my human ones!

I have experience with puppies as well as adult / senior dogs. Since Covid -19 there are a lot more puppies and new dog owners in the area. If this is you I am happy to provide advice and assist with teaching your puppy the foundations of socialising and etiquette on walks to ensure they learn good behaviour and continue to improve on recall.

I am currently undergoing a Canine Behaviour Diploma Course to add to my understanding of dogs and to always stay on top of the various mix of breeds and how they vary.

I am currently EXCLUSIVE to Meppershall Village and not taking on any customers outside of this area until 2026 SPRING.
